Family Road Trip to Texas (Day Three)

Today we started of the morning right by going to Magnolia Pancake Haus!  (It’s been visited by Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but it hasn’t been aired on TV yet; so we’re ahead of the game!  I personally think I won for best food with a Lemon Poppy-Seed Waffle, but my mom came in second with Bacon Pancakes.  Everything was really amazing, but it was one of the more over-priced Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that I’ve been to.  (Over 3 dollars for two pieces of bacon!)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After brunch we went on to Sea World: San Antonio.  It was pretty fun!  I’d only been once before (in Florida) when I was 4-years-old, and I didn’t remember much.  I’m glad I got to go back, though.  We went to the Shamu Show, which was really cool.  I can’t believe that they trained these whales to move and act like that!  It’s insane!  Plus just being in the presence of such beautiful and uncommon animals is always humbling.  After that we went to the Clyde and Seymour Show.  Which was pretty cute, but my parents both said that the Florida show was much better.  Dolphin Discovery was my favorite.  We bought a few trays of fish and fed the dolphins.  It was really cool, but I have to admit, a little scary because this one was coming up out of the water for some fish!  He was really hungry, apparently!  The Shark and Coral Reef Center was pretty cool, but again, not as big or full as the one in Florida.  It was really fun, and I enjoyed the park, but I can see why my parents took us when we were younger.  I wouldn’t pay that much money to go back to the Sa Antonio Sea World, but when I have kids, I’d go to the Florida location.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At night my dad and I took a father/daughter walk on the Riverwalk.  We went past all the places our tour guide pointed out to us, and then came up off the Riverwalk, through a hotel and up to the Alamo.  The Riverwalk looks almost magical at night, if it weren’t for the massive amounts of people.  It’s something that I would most definitely come back to- and really want Alex to see.  We walked up to the San Fernando Cathedral, which was so beautiful all lit up at night; I loved it! We walked in the courtyard and back through the Riverwalk, and ended the walk at the Alamo, which was also lit up and very beautiful!

It was another great day in scorching hot San Antonio, and sadly our last!  We’re off to Galveston!
