Wanderlust Wednesday- Photo Wanderlust
This week’s edition of “Wanderlust Wednesday” I wanted to share some photos that keep me day-dreaming about traveling. I don’t know about you guys, but I need motivation a lot of times to remind me what my hard work is going to be used on. I have a full time job, am a full time student, and my mom and I have a crafting “business” on the side… It’s a lot going on! However, when I see these pictures around my apartment, taped to the inside of my notebook for school, in my purse, and even stashed in the sun-visor of my car, I remember I have to get through the boring to get to the exciting parts of life. So I’m going to share three of my own photos from past trips and three photos from trips I’m dying to go on!
(The bottom three pictures (that aren’t mine) are from the blog Big Barrels and Air Reverses. I found this blog about a year ago, and I can’t even count how many times I’ve been on this site since. I hope you enjoy them as well.
This is a photo of my dad and me on our three-week-road trip to Alaska. This photo is in front of Northwestern Glacier in the Kenai Fjords. The Seward area was my favorite part of the trip. I have this photo on my wall in my apartment for a couple reasons. I am dying to drive to Alaska again, and this is a good reminder! Secondly, to remind me of all the amazing adventures I’ve had because of my amazing dad. He is who has instilled the sense of wanderlust and adventure that I have. For any of my readers that have the opportunity to travel with their parents I highly recommend it. It’s a great time to bond with them, get to see a different side of them and my favorite part is learning and experiencing new things together. You really just appreciate them ten times more.
This is a photo I took this spring when I was in Greece. I had been in Greece a few days when I visited the Monastery of Hosios Loukas, and it is in the top three prettiest places I’ve ever been. This place was tucked away in the foothills of Mount Helicon and you felt so shut off from the outside world in an amazing way. I had some really great me time wandering around the grounds here. It was my favorite place that I visited and I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling there.
This photo I took in ’07 when I went to Italy. This trip was a huge influence on my life because it was what made me fall in love with the idea of culture, and the beauty of cultural differences and language. I have this picture on the inside of my school binder to remind me of 2 things: 1) Why I’m an anthropology major. 2) I’ll be back in Italy in November!!!!
So those are three of my own photos, but now for the fun part! I have been really, really wanting to go to South and Central America for over a year now, and these pictures from this blog I’ve been following make me want to go ten times more!

Alaska is been in my list for ever, but was always scared of planning a trip because of unknown territory part. Your trip is very inspiring. And you also traveled to Greece and Italy, waw, I have never traveled to Europe and I heard that’s a Paradise on earth

My dad was really stressed out about the Alaska Highway, but it ended up being a breeze! It’s really amazing, and I really think you should go! There is a really great book called the milepost if you’re interested in driving! I really enjoy Europe, I’m going for the 4th time in November, but I’m really excited to do something new maybe next summer. I’d love to go to India, Peru or Cuba… We shall see! Thanks for reading!
Great blog – have just found you and am cruising through your site! Hope you make it to South America – it is so cool! Loved Peru and Bolivia the most, but would have loved to have had more time in Chile! So much to do out there – so little time!!! Love reading other adventures – inspires new places in my mind all the time!
