Wanderlust Wednesday- Quotes That Inspire Travel- Part 6
This week’s ‘Wanderlust Wednesday’ is another batch of travel inspiring quotes! I seriously cannot get enough of these!
As a side note- I wanted to share with you what I’ve been doing with these quotes- as you know from my Souvenir post, I am a collector of postcards, and I’ve decided to write these quotes that inspire travel on the back of them. I think it’s a great reminder of why I have gone to these places to have these quotes pushing me to explore new lands.
“But when you pause to talk, to ask questions, to learn the stories behind a piece of cloth, a cup of tea, or a bowl of noodles you enter deep into the culture. You discover the richness. You learn that everything is more than it seems.”
-Gayle Herman- Afar Magazine
“That is the charm of a map. It represents the other side of the horizon where the toil and sweat of realization. The greatest romance ever written pales before the possibilities of adventure that lie in the faint blue trails from sea to sea. The perfect journey is never finished, the goal is always just across the next river, round the shoulder of the next mountain. There is always one more track to follow, one more mirage to explore. Achievment is the price which the wanderer pays for the right to venture.”
“You do not travel if you are afraid of the unknown, you travel for the unknown, that reveals you within yourself.”
“I like songs about drifters, books about the same. They both seem to make me feel a little less insane.”
- Lyrics to World at Large by Modest Mouse-
“The open road is beckoning, a strangeness, a place where a man can lose himself.”
-William Least Heat Moon-
