Collect Moments, Not Things

A few months ago I wrote a Guest Post for one of my favorite blogs, Be Love Live (by the way, if you’re not following her, you should be), and I used a photo with the words ‘collect moments, not things’ on it.  I’ve been thinking about this so much lately.  I’ve been getting rid of some of my ‘things’ and trying not to accumulate more (even when on trips), but one thing I’ve been trying really hard to collect are moments with those I love.  I’ve had a really great year so far and I’ve been able to do and experience a lot.  I’ve put more time (and honestly, money) into making moments instead of trinkets, clothes and other things, and it has been so rewarding!

This is one of my favorite moments from my East Coast trip with Zach- the top of our first hike together

I’ve been able to go to on a trip Arizona and Utah with my dad, I went to Chicago with Zach, I got to spend a lot of time with my family working in their greenhouse this spring, I’ve taken a lot of mini trips with Zach, we recently got home from a spectacular 21 day trip to the east coast, and I’ve been able to take a lot of small hiking day trips with my friends!  I’ve been truly fortunate this year so far and I just wanted to express gratitude to all the people in my life that have made these experiences possible, and to you guys for letting me share them!

So, if I can offer up one thing I’ve learned this year, it’s that truly nothing makes you richer than collecting moments instead of things.  What are some moments you’ve collected so far this year?

Thanks, Liz. It was a bit of a variation of what I wrote for you, but this is something I’ve really been thinking about since then. No problem on the shout-out. You’re one of my must-reads! 🙂
