Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella- Florence - For the Love of Wanderlust
The last couple of days in Florence flew by way too quickly- which is true of most any vacation. The day before my last day was pretty low-key. Stacey had a few classes, and I had some homework to turn in online so I got a late start on the day. I wandered around to the more residential side of the river, got some pizza and just roamed around for a few hours. After her class, Stacey and I met up at Santa Maria Novella to make an evening trip to the Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. It was a really beautiful place. It’s one of the oldest pharmacies in the entire world. They still produce potpourris, soaps and perfumes here and the walls and ceilings are filled with frescoes. There are beautiful statues, and displays of old books describing flowers and how to mix potpourris. It was really beautiful. I would highly recommend a visit- plus it’s FREE! Great for budget travelers! We ended the night at Tiajuana’s for Margaritas… They have happy hour until 8:30 and you can get half-priced margaritas! They’re massive for only 3 Euros each! Thanks for reading I’ll […]
