Nashville Shows and Staying Warm in Franklin, Tennessee

The first few days of my road trip I spent four VERY COLD days in Nashville, Tennessee with one of my best friends, Tyler.  It was a lot of fun, but since it was in the single digits (not including the wind chill) we spent a lot of time eating- which I have saved for another post- and watching a lot of LOTR!  However, we still managed to try to get out and brave the cold for a few things.  The first day we went to Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky, but then we spent some time in Tennessee!

Our first night we went to one of Tyler’s favorite bars, Third & Lindsley.  It was a lot of fun, and we got to hear some local country singers play.  That night we heard Bonnie Bishop and she put on a fun show!

One of the warmer days (7° F) we went to Franklin, Tennessee.  Tyler told me it was a cute little town with an awesome downtown.  So we got there, parked and started walking which didn’t last long.  We’d make it down three doors and then have to pop into a shop just to warm up.

We decided that it was just much too cold to really walk around, so Tyler showed me this really awesome cafe where we could get some hot chocolate to warm up.  The Frothy Monkey was an adorable, and funky cafe with a really awesome vibe.  They serve food and drinks, but we just got hot chocolate and it was the best freakin’ hot chocolate I’ve ever had!

My last night in Nashville we went to Third & Lindsley again to see The Time Jumpers play!  That was so much fun!  It’s a band made up of several Opry Members, but the one Tyler mentioned most was Vince Gill!  They were really incredible!  It was a ton of fun and they played a lot of really great classic country music.  I’m so glad I got to experience this while I was in Nashville!

I left early the next morning to make my way to the Atlantic and Wilmington, NC.  It was sad to leave Tyler because I feel like I never get to see him enough, and we had so much fun!  However, I was super excited to see what all was coming up next for me!
