North Carolina- Waterfalls

When I was in Asheville in February I lucked into some pretty amazing spring-like weather!  So, Nick took me exploring and I got to see three REALLY incredible waterfalls!  First, we went to DuPont State Forest and hiked to a couple different falls.

This State Forest was absolutely stunning, and I hope to do some more exploring when I move there (in 20 days!).  The walk to this first waterfall, Hooker Falls, I got to learn a lot about the different types of fish and trees in North Carolina from Nick.  Hooker Falls, when you first see it doesn’t look like much, because you just see it from above, but when we walked down to see it, I loved it!  However, I wasn’t prepared for the beauty of the next waterfall.

Triple Falls is an absolutely beautiful waterfall that cascades down over three sections.  We got to walk down level with the second set of falls, and we climbed up a tiny bit to the next level, but even though it was a spring-like day, there was still a lot of ice around the edges.

It was such a beautiful and peaceful day so we took some time to sit up top, people watch and just listen to the water flow.  It was so beautiful and peaceful and one of those moments that I thought to myself, life is pretty great!

We walked across this river on a bridge to get to and from Triple Falls, and on the way back I really noticed how beautiful it was! I LOVE the beauty of rivers and waterfalls.

After going to DuPont State Forest, Nick and I went to Pisgha National Forest and drove to Looking Glass Falls.  Holy Cow!  It’s my favorite waterfall so far!  It isn’t a huge waterfall, but it is so beautiful!  I can tell that this is going to be a place I visit over and over again!

We sat on a log and climbed on these rocks for a while, talking and watching the waterfall.  (I don’t think that ever gets old.)

I decided I wanted to test the water, thinking that since the weather felt so springy, but the water didn’t feel like spring!

This was an absolutely incredible day exploring three different waterfalls in the Asheville area!  I cannot wait to see even more!
