Salzburg, Austria - For the Love of Wanderlust
Our visit to Salzburg was cut in half because of travel conflicts, but we still enjoyed our very brief visit. It started out in the Mirabell Palace and Gardens. This was one of the shooting locations for the sound of music (where the kids and Maria sang and danced). I have seen photos of these gardens in the summer, and they’re very impressive. However, when we were there they were just starting to plant them! This is the fountain that the kids and Maria danced around in The Sound of Music We walked through this side of town towards the older part of town across the river. Along the way, though, we passed Mozart’s residence. Mozart’s Residence Across the river was something pretty spectacular. Salzburg was definitely a feast for the eyes. The buildings are brightly colored, churches have those unique onion-shaped domes, mountains on one side, river on the other… I mean, even the cemeteries are stunning!
