Zach and I were told that the USS Constitution was a must-see. This is the oldest ship in the US Navy, and we were excited to make our way along the Freedom Trail to the ship. We were really disappointed when we got to the ship an hour and a half after it closed. There was a huge gate up, so we couldn’t even see the ship. Even though Zach thought it might be strange, I asked the man working the gate if I could simply step onto the dock to see it and take a picture (because what’s the harm in asking?), and he said that he would walk us on. We followed him out onto the dock, and then onto the boat where he proceeded to give us a private tour of the ship!!! I was so excited! He uncovered the helm so we could see it, and we helped him cover it up again! It was very cool! We were so grateful to have this experience and we have a lot of pictures!
