10 Archaeological Sites I Want to Visit

Archaeology is something that I truly discovered, of course, while traveling.  When I was 17 I walked through the Roman Forum and fell in love with it!  That trip through all of these amazing sites inspired my love for anthropology- which is what I have a B.A. in.

I was thinking back to that trip this week while planning my next trip to a famous archaeological site. **Here’s a hint it’s one of these locations**  While thinking of this trip I found myself making a list of archaeological sites that I want to visit, and I thought I would share that list with you, and you can see if you can guess which site I’ll be visiting this fall!

Wow! Lucky you! I’ll be hiking the Inca Trail in September, and I’m so excited for that! What are your newbies?

Great sites! I lived in Cambodia when I was 3. So I don’t remember zip: 🙁 On my list. Teotihuacán I have gone several times. Living in Mexico it’s the first place you take friends to.

My eldest daughter, Alexandra, just went there for her honeymoon. A strange feeling (for the both of us) for her to be retracing my, and my parents’s steps.
        be good.

Nice list. If we could go back to Petra again, we would stay overnight. The cost effective day trip from Eilat was very good, but not nearly enough time to see the whole site.
