This week’s “Wanderlust Wednesday” is devoted to the amazing-ness that is Angelina Jolie. I’m a little embarrassed to admit how much I love this woman; I think it’s so amazing what a great role model she is for young girls. She shows the importance not only of family, but helping others around you who are far less fortunate. She and Brad Pitt are notorious for giving money, and time, to help out others, whether in the US or in other countries. Angelina, in this ad for Louis Vuitton’s “Journey Campaign”, describes how traveling changed her life! She describes the effect that travel has had on her in terms of family, learning about herself, and how travel is exciting and soothing to her. Be sure to check out the videos, and portraits taken by Annie Leibovitz not only of Angelina, but of Cambodians as well!
There are videos where she is interviewed about Cambodia and travel and there are two quotes that really stuck out to me:
“I try to experience as much as I can, and kind-of adapt, so we can blend and have a full experience. You try to not hold onto those things that are your comforts of home. You try to let go of them and be of the new country.”
“I’m always very excited when I’m on my way to some place I’ve never seen. We joke at the house, anytime I get frustrated or upset about something, or feel like I’ve lost focus, I get my maps out.”
Just take your time looking through this link… You’ll be day-dreaming about Cambodia all week!
Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday, and I’m leaving on Friday for a road-trip to Texas- so be looking for some posts later this week! Thanks for reading- feel free to leave any suggestions about things I need to see, watch, or read for future Wanderlust Wednesdays; I love hearing back from my fellow wanderlusters, and love to be inspired!
