Wanderlust Wednesday- Foods That Inspire Travel

Food is one of the many things that I look forward to when traveling.  I love to eat, and trying new foods is something I like to do because it can be such a big part of a culture.  I also love how eating can bring families, congregations, and friends together, and that’s when you learn a lot about people during your travels.

Chocolate Mousse/Nutella Crepes

Crepes:  My first trip to Europe was to France, and I very quickly fell in love with these decadent, delicious and addictive treats!  I loved the Nutella/Banana, the Chocolate Mousse/Nutella (which is pictured above), and the Strawberry/Nutella.  So delicious, and I would highly recommend making a midnight run to a creperie when you finish a late night walk in Paris.

Cafe du Monde: Beignets and Coffee with Chicory

Cafe du Monde’s Beignets and Coffee with Chicory:  You can’t visit New Orleans without stopping at the Cafe du Monde and eating these yummy pillows of dough that melt in your mouth, and are completely smothered in powered sugar!  I loved them and Alex and I went back again and again on our trip there.  They’re available a few places but you have to go to the original cafe in Jackson Square.

Chicken Fried Steak

Chicken Fried Steak:  Every now and then you just crave some good homestyle cooking!  I love to just feast on chicken fried steak with a heaping helping of mashed potatoes, gravy, and macaroni & cheese… My mouth is watering right now.  This beauty of a chicken fried steak is from The Village Cafe in Richmond, VA.  If you’re in the Richmond Area I highly recommend it!

Bubble Gum Gelato

Gelato:  Gelato is one of those things that I could eat all day every day!  Bubblegum, Pistachio, Stracciatella, Banana, Espresso, etc.  You name it I’ll eat it!  When we came back from Italy my brother was couldn’t understand it saying, “It’s just ice cream.”  Then when a local gelateria  opened my brother quickly became addicted!  So, now I can get my fix of yummy gelato within two blocks of my house.  Love it!

Chinese Food at the Fo Guang Shan Temple

Authentic Chinese Food:  To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what any of these foods are actually called, but I went to a Chinese Buddhist Temple where they had a vegetarian meal, and this was part of what was served and I absolutely loved it!  I can’t wait to actually go to China and dig in!

I hope that everyone’s mouth is watering now, and if anyone has any suggestions on foods to try in the US or anywhere in the world, I’ll write in my journals to try later!  Hope everyone had a great weekend and I’ll be back later this week to finish up posting about my road trip with my family to Texas!

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
