Wanderlust Wednesday- Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein

At the beginning of next month I’m going to do a short trip in Southern Germany, pop into Austria for a day and go through Liechtenstein to Switzerland, and I’ve been going through Pinterest and drooling over photos of some of the places I’m going to visit, and I thought I would share some of them with you guys!  I’m getting excited, even though it’s a little over a month away!  I’m off to Asheville for a week!  I can’t wait to come back with stories to share with you guys!

Where will you begin? Friedrichshafen is a good place with a nice ferry crossing into Switzerland. Liechtenstein is lovely but don’t get too excited about Vaduz. The eastern part of Austria is worth avoiding – it is very dull! I hope you enjoy your trip!

I’m starting in Munich, going to Salzburg and into Lucerne. Those are our big stops, but we will make many others along the way, of course! Thanks for the suggestions!

I have visited Germany several times when my Grandmother lived there. It is so beautiful! I love the old architecture. I hope you enjoy your trip!

From everything I’ve seen it looks great! I’m sure I won’t be disappointed! What is one food that I HAVE to try while I’m there? Thanks for reading and commenting!

Lucerne is a lovely city, the Mount Pilatus cable car is a must do. Nice webcam overlooking Lake Lucerne, even in the dark. http://luzerntourismus.roundshot.ch/ Vaduz has a stamp museum and a Royal Palace you crane your neck up at, but are not allowed to visit. Just tick Liechtenstein off the list and move on.

I actually ended up not going up Mount Pilatus. It was a bit overcast, and we had so much fun exploring the city! You’re absolutely right, Liechtenstein was just a place to check off, kinda. We didn’t really do anything at all, but look up at the Royal Palace.
