Wanderlust Wednesday- Maps

I LOVE MAPS!  It’s no secret!  Anything with maps or globes my friends instantly send me pictures of or tell me about because I love them.  They’re just constant reminders of all the places in the world to travel to!  I showed you guys a few of my maps in my post on Wanderlust in My Apartment but anytime I can affordably get my hands on a map or a globe, I get it!  So, I thought I’d share some pictures of map things that I think are amazing, and a few quotes as well.

“To a man with imagination, a map is a window to adventure.”

-Sir Francis Chichester-

“That is the charm of a map.  It represents the other side of the horizon where everything is possible.  It has the magic of anticipation without the toil and sweat of realizations.  The greatest romance ever written pales before the possibilities of adventure that lie in the faint blue trails from sea to sea.  The perfect journey is never finished, the goal is always just right across the next river, round the shoulder of the next mountain.  There is always one more track to follow, one more mirage to explore.  Achievement is the price which the wanderer pays for the right to venture.”

-Rosita Forbes-

“It’s not down in any map; true places never are.”

-Herman Melville-

“Close your eyes and place your fingers on a map.  Wherever it lands, that’s the theme of the evening….”

-Mario Batali-

“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.”

-Earl Nightingale-

We are so much alike! Every time I see anything about a city or region of a country that looks interesting I immediately consult my world map 🙂 Glad you enjoy them too, and thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading and following my blog! I think that would be awesome wrapping paper, but I couldn’t part with them- I have a feeling you’d feel the same way!

Especially if it’s a place you return to again and again! I do postcards too, but not pins. Do you put them on your backpack or anything?

I thought of getting something like a sash … the pins are too precious for me to pin on a backpack. Clumsy travellers like me would definitely lose them haha
