Wanderlust Wednesday: Postcards from Amsterdam (Old & New)

This week’s Wanderlust Wednesday is all about two postcards from Amsterdam.  This winter when my cousin was in town we were over at my grandparent’s house and my grandpa was telling us about how he went all over Europe when he was stationed in Germany while in the military in the late 50’s and early 60’s.  It was great to hear all of his stories about going to a bullfight, drinking in Paris and going to Amsterdam, and along with his stories he also showed us this amazing postcard that he had written to my great-grandparents.  It was so amazing to not only see the beautiful picture, but to hear my grandpa describe Amsterdam and his travels when he was just about my age.  So, I took a picture of this postcard to share with you guys, and I also have a picture of a postcard from Amsterdam that I received in January from my friend Stacey.

This is such a beautiful little piece of family history and proof that Wanderlust is genetic! 🙂

I absolutely love receiving postcards, they’re some of the greatest gifts to receive.  It’s like my friends sending me a snippet of their travel journals dedicated to me personally!

I hope everyone had a great week.  Do any of you have huge postcard collections or any pieces of family travel history that you treasure?  I would love to hear all about them!  Thanks for reading!

Post cards are so much fun! Sometimes I get my photos done into post cards – especially my faves.
