Today’s Wanderlust Wednesday is all about ships and the sea. I have always loved ships: paintings, ships in movies, ships, ships, ships! I love the idea of literally going where the wind takes you. Some of my favorite scenes in movies involve ships or boats: When the pirate ship flies Wendy home in Disney’s Peter Pan, when Daisy and Benjamin sail into the Florida Keys together in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button…. it’s just something I’ve always romanticized. I would love to sail all over the world, for the rest of my life. I thought I’d share some ship artwork (including my ship tattoo) with some ship/sea quotes.
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
“There is something in the emptiness of the sea. No Past; no future.”
-The Last Samurai-
“For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea.“
“A ship is safe in the harbor, but that’s not what ships are built for.”
“Get your course by the stars, not by the light of every passing ship.”
