Washington DC – White House, US Capitol and More!

After walking around the memorials and monuments we went to the Holocaust Museum, which was pretty amazing.  It was probably my favorite part of the day.  It was one one of those things that you didn’t feel good after you left, but it was a really well designed museum and incredibly humbling.  They really painted a picture of the rise of Hitler, the way the Jews were portrayed in Europe, how Holocaust spread and changed, and the post-Holocaust trials.  They had videos of medical tests they performed on Jews, recordings of Holocaust survivors and displays from Auschwitz.  You weren’t supposed to take pictures in the museum, so I only have a few photos.

After this museum we made our way toward the Capitol.  We stopped in at the US Botanical Gardens just for a bit.  It was absolutely beautiful.

After the Botanical Gardens we went in front of the Capitol Building, and then around back to see the Supreme Court.

Then we went to the National Museum of American History.  It had a lot of information about the presidents and the wars that America has been in.  I thought it was cool to see the old war uniforms.  There was a Lobsterback uniform and Andrew Jackson’s Navy Uniform.

Our last stop on our 21-day-road-trip was the White House.

It was a really great trip.  I had so much fun, saw so many amazing things and explored so many new states and a new provence of Canada.  I got to spend 21 days with my best friend, see old friends and make new friends.  It was truly wonderful.

It’s really incredible! I wish we had had more time to go to more of the museums, but it just leaves something to see the next time, right? I hope you guys have a blast!
