Yellowstone National Park

On our way home we stopped at Yellowstone National Park for the day.  My dad has been a few times, and I had been once before, but Cory had never been.  Again, we were on a bit of a time crunch, so we didn’t really do much hiking, but we stopped at a lot of the highlights for Cory to see!

We stopped at this waterfall right inside the park, and shortly came up on a black bear with her two cubs, but they were so far away, that the pictures don’t really do them justice.

Our first real stop was the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  It was really amazing, just like last time.  The water was really high, though and the waterfalls were both really rushing.  We didn’t do the hike to the Upper Falls, but we  did to the Lower Falls and the short little hike to the overlook.  It’s one of my favorite stops at Yellowstone.

Our next stop was the West Thumb Geyser Basin- another one of my favorites.  I didn’t take too many pictures since, I have so many from the last time I was here.

We went up to Old Faithful, watched it go off, which isn’t my favorite of the stops.  You have to go see it at least once if you’re there, but this was my third or fourth time watching it go off.  Cory really enjoyed it though, and I stocked up on Huckleberry Sweets!  We made our way out towards Cody, Wyoming and passed Swan Lake and bid Yellowstone goodbye until next time.

If these pictures don’t do it justice I can’t imagine how breath-taking it must be to actually be there!

It is absolutely stunning. I don’t think pictures ever do places justice. If you ever get the chance to go- do it!

Really beautiful photos! Sometimes I think I’m living on the wrong side of the country! 🙂

Thank you, and thanks for following me! I’m with you, I think I may need to change it up and relocate in the near future!

The canyon part is amazing … this place is a short road trip from Alberta, may have to plan a jaunt down there soon!

The canyon is probably my favorite section of Yellowstone. I could go back again and again! You definitely should go down there- we drove from there to Alberta once, and this time we drove from Alberta to Yellowstone. So, it’s very doable and well worth it!

I loved Yellowstone but didn’t realise they had a canyon, wish I’d visited that too
