It’s no secret that glamping is on the rise. More and more people are looking for unique places to stay that become part of the experience instead of just a place to rest your head. It’s the perfect way to bridge the gap between roughing it and escaping the hustle and bustle of a city. Now, bridging that gap is even easier with the use of Glamping Hub.
What is Glamping Hub?
Glamping Hub is a third party site that puts travelers in contact with hosts of various glamping sites across the world. Think AirBNB but for gorgeous glamping spots.
Their website is beautiful and, more importantly, easy to use. Simply search a city, state or country to find a wide variety of options laid out in front of you. You can choose between tipis, safari tents, tree houses, yurts, tiny houses and more. There are filters to help you get exactly what you’re looking for including price, number of guests, and more.
When you find a property you want, you simply fill out the dates and send out a request. Once your request is confirmed you make a payment and you’re ready to get glamping. You’re put in direct communication with your host and they can answer any questions that you may have.
My Experience With Glamping Hub
The adorable 98-square-foot tiny house that my mom and I stayed in.
When my mom and I decided to take a girls trip to Asheville, we immediately jumped on Glamping Hub to check out where to stay. We found this tiny house, and decided we just had to give it a go. (We’ve both been intrigued by the idea of tiny-house-living.)Â The glamping site I booked was in the process of being moved from a more secluded area just outside of Asheville to inside the city near a beautiful lake. My host was always very quick to respond and was very open about the fact that they were still in a setup process after the move to the new location. I was so smitten with the tiny house, so I didn’t mind at all.
Want A Tour of This Tiny Beauty?
Come on in!
Even though this tiny house was in a backyard, it still felt secluded. It was in a gorgeous part of town and the tiny house had its own tiny yard to unwind in. Our host made the perfect space to enjoy a craft beer, grill something or even make a small bonfire.
Inside, there’s a sofa bed immediately to a the left (aka, my mom’s “room”), a loft bed up top (aka, my “room”). All the way to the back was the kitchen and bathroom. The 98 square feet of this glamping site was utilized perfectly.
The kitchen has a small gas stovetop, all the cooking/eating utensils you would need, a mini-fridge, a microwave and loads of staples to help you make a meal or two. As a budget traveler, I really loved this as it helps travelers keep their funds in check.
In addition to spices and other cooking supplies, there is vast selection teas, coffees and fixings. It’s perfect.
 Â
The bathroom has it all. There is a compost toilet and the tiniest shower I’ve ever seen. Everything in the house is well-labeled with very clear instructions of how to use it.
The loft bed was cozy, but very tiny. It was perfect for my 5-foot-3-self.
In the evening our tiny house’s tiny yard became magical-looking from the glow of the perfectly placed cozy lights. I truly loved the tiny house and its perfect layout. It makes the best glamping spot for anyone wandering through Asheville.
Let’s Get Real:
While I had an incredible experience with Glamping Hub, there are a couple things I wish I would’ve known when booking.
First of all, the price that’s listed on the listing isn’t the definite price. While this booking lists for $79.18, that’s not what I would’ve had to pay for each night because it differs depending on the date selected. I don’t mind that this is the case. However, as a user I would like to see something that says “starting at” or a scale of what the prices could be. Plus, don’t forget, like other sites, there’s also the possibility of an additional cleaning fee.
Secondly, I didn’t think that my listing was very clear on one subject: air conditioning. Our tiny house was without a/c. This was a bit of a surprise when we showed up on a 93 degree day. However, my host was really gracious and checked in multiple times to make sure we were okay. She also gave us multiple tips on how to cool down the house. While I know there’s a listing of all the things included in the tiny house, I just assumed that along with the gas fireplace, there would probably be a small a/c unit. It was something that I felt should maybe have been stressed a bit more. In the end it all worked out, but I would just make sure to ask hosts about amenities if it’s unclear. This is especially important if certain things would be deal-breakers for you.
Why Asheville is the Perfect Glamping Location
One of the things I love about glamping is that you can make your experience completely your own. You can pick a place way out in a secluded area or you can stay in a natural spot within a town. Because of this, Asheville is perfect. Asheville, like glamping, is the perfect combo of nature + culture and you can make a trip there unique to you.
 Â
My mom and I used our tiny house as a jumping off point for day trips to Black Mountain and Highlands. Plus, being in the city meant that I had plenty of opportunities to show my mom my favorite things in Asheville.
* Although I stayed in this tiny home courtesy of Glamping Hub, my opinions, as always, are my own.

July 26, 2017 at 3:05 pmMy usual issue with some of the places people describe as glamping is lack of bathroom within my accommodation. For me, there is nothing glamorous about shared toilets and showers (or none if you’re talking wilderness camping rather than organised camp sites). So your experience is really interesting because to me this is the kind of place I’d totally love. It’s quirky and cute, and yet it has the comforts I want in my accommodation. I’ll check out the Glamping Hub to see what else I love!

August 8, 2017 at 9:54 pmHaha! That’s very true that glamour and shared toilets don’t typically go hand-in-hand. It was totally quirky and cute! There are so many places I want to stay with Glamping Hub. They’re just so interesting!

July 26, 2017 at 6:03 pmWhat an adorable tiny house! I am always intrigued to see tiny houses and it’s so amazing you’re actually able to rent one! I have been wanting to try glamping and have actually been looking at Glamping Hub for their different options! This seems like the perfect place to try it! I would have to be extra careful to keep all my clothes inside my suitcase instead of my usual suitcase just exploded look in a tiny house like this though!

August 9, 2017 at 10:10 pmIt was absolutely adorable! I was excited to get a peek into tiny-house living, even if it was just for a few days. Oh, my clothes exploded shortly after these photos were taken. Luckily, there was a tiny closet in here. Glamping Hub was definitely a great tool. We’re looking forward to doing some Glamping Abroad too!

July 27, 2017 at 6:44 amSo fun that you got to do this post and try out Glamping Hub! Sounds crazy cool. Plus, it’s adorable! Of course, the best of all is that I got to see you!!!! It was honestly really great to see you and connect with you again, even if it was for such a short time! It cannot be 2.5 years again! Love to you, dear friend. xoxo

August 9, 2017 at 10:12 pmIt was really cool! That was one of the highlights of my weekend in Asheville for sure! I can’t believe it had been so long, but I was so excited to see you and Lina! I can’t wait to see where our next reunion will be. It was way too short this last time! Love right back at ya!

July 27, 2017 at 9:02 amI’ll have to start by admitting that I’m completely obsessed with tiny houses. I love how creative they are with space, and the furniture creations that often have multiple purposes. So cool! And I have always been curious about glamping. I grew up camping as a kid, but I just don’t want to go that rough for most trips, so this would be a really good compromise, and I think Andy would love it. Pinned!
Paige Wunder
August 9, 2017 at 10:17 pmI’m obsessed with them too! I’ve been trying to get Matt to buy one to plop down in North Carolina! I think we like them for the same reasons! They’re so well thought-out, environmentally friendly and so efficient! I love it! This would be a great compromise, and Matt was jealous that he didn’t get to go, so I bet Andy would love it too!

July 27, 2017 at 9:01 pmOMG this is so cute!! I love glamping, and have used Glamping Hub a number of times throughout Australia, so I’ve never stayed in a tiny house – I watch the house hunters international series on tiny homes obsessively though, so this would be an incredible way to stay! And Asheville is a great destination for glamping, we loved the amount of access to nature when we visited last 🙂 Thanks for the heads up on confirming air con if we’re traveling during summer 🙂

August 9, 2017 at 10:19 pmIsn’t is just the cutest!? Asheville is one of my all-time-favs. That’s why it’s one of the places my husband and I call home! It’s growing in popularity, but still super awesome and local-focused. I’m glad that you’ve found it good enough to use multiple times. I’m looking forward to my next booking!

July 29, 2017 at 1:30 pmWhat an adorable space! Think i would need a little bit more room with my mom though 😉

August 10, 2017 at 11:08 pmHaha! We’re pretty tight and there was plenty of room for us both to still have some privacy. That’s pretty surprising since it’s only 98 square feet.

July 29, 2017 at 2:46 pmI miss Asheville!! What a perfect accommodation for that city. Could you live in a house like this long term? I think I could if it was that cute. Thanks for sharing about Glamping Hub, sounds like a wonderful site to check out! We love unique adventures!!
Paige Wunder
August 10, 2017 at 11:11 pmWe miss it the minute we leave it every time! I could do a slightly larger one. Maybe 300 square feet. That way we could have a better work space as well. But it was pretty great! It’s definitely full of unique accommodation opportunities!

July 29, 2017 at 9:47 pmPaige I love this!! I love camping but I must admit, a little glam to the experience wouldn’t go astray. Don’t believe I’ve not done it! Added to my list 🙂 Love your ‘getting real’ section too, it’s those little gems that are so helpful and you only know by having the experience. Thanks for posting!

August 10, 2017 at 11:23 pmThanks for reading Kimberly. I can rough it, but a little glam is nice from time to time!

July 30, 2017 at 12:17 amThe place looks tiny but well appointed. I have had my share of issues with various acco portals where some of the unscrupulous ones hide certain charges until you get to a point of no return.

August 10, 2017 at 11:24 pmThis luckily showed them before the point of no return, but I was still disappointed that the price wasn’t the one listed.

July 30, 2017 at 10:35 amI never heard of glamping hub – good to know (and also your concerns about the pricing communication) I have yet to try tiny house living and this may be a great start. Great pics, talk about utilizing space! especially in the kitchen!

August 10, 2017 at 11:30 pmIsn’t the space efficiency just genius? Definitely give Glamping Hub a shot. You know what the price is before you’re committed. Just be mindful of checking it.

July 30, 2017 at 11:52 amI have been hearing a lot about glamping and hope to give it a try one of these days. Checked out Glamping Hub and it seems to be quite useful. The house you stayed in is really well designed, but the loft bed might not be suitable for bigger individuals.
Paige Wunder
August 10, 2017 at 11:32 pmIt’s definitely useful and we’re hoping to make the most of using it again! You may be right about the loft bed. Even taller people might hang off the edge.

July 30, 2017 at 12:56 pmI’m bout much of a camper but glamping is something i can get behind. Judd hard to believe that your tiny house was only 98 sq.feet!

July 31, 2017 at 3:07 amI heard of Glamping Hub through some friends who own a glamping spot in the Philippines. The tiny house sure does look stocked! July 31, 2017 at 3:20 amAwww this is really fun, I have always enjoyed camping— and now I know I can take my friends to glamping ( they don’t like camping) but I think I could swing this. It’s also a cute little house.

July 31, 2017 at 1:30 pmI love this article! Me and my partner would love to live simple in a ‘tiny house’! It’s just amazing how you can fit a whole house and all the necessaries into a tiny house! Mind blowing!

August 1, 2017 at 6:25 amThat is the cutest little caravan ever!! They stock it well and it’s just so nicely done. I do however feel for you with on a/c in that heat. Not sure how I would feel with the owner checking in all the time to see how I was, I personally like to just enjoy my stay without interaction.

August 1, 2017 at 2:32 pmOh my! That tiny house looks real cute, I’d love to try it out! Must say I was surprised by what’s inside it though! My first choice would have been the bed in the attic with the window for a lookout but it looks too small for a 6 footer so I guess I’ll just have to make do with the bed by the kitchen. Now I’m going to check out Glamping Hub to see if there’s anything remotely similar nearby my place.

August 1, 2017 at 11:07 pmI love your glamping story. Lol. Are those the spices screwed onto the ceiling above the stove. Haha. Love it. The only thing is I’m not sure if I’d be ok in that bed. I think I’d be claustrophobic. I love the porch too…lol

August 2, 2017 at 1:16 amIt looks very cute and cosy. I can see that the place is self contained too. I think I would love to stay in this kind of a house for a short period. But once the novelty wears off, I would feel the need for more space.

August 7, 2017 at 1:55 amI’ve been interested in trying glamping for a while now. I used to love camping as a kid, but the adult me needs a bit more glam, so this sounds perfect. The tiny house looks amazing, but no AC sounds a bit… yeah, I would not love it. Still, having a site dedicated to glamping is absolutely awesome, i definitely need to check that out.
