Atlas: Year One by Sleeping at Last

Wanderlust Wednesday:

When I was in Sweden, this album was the soundtrack of that month.  It’s a collection of EPs and singles with an atlas theme.  It’s an indie-folk album that makes perfect background music for big moments, and beautiful lyrics that kept me in my own head and inspired basically every time I was in route somewhere new.  The whole album inspired me and still inspires me to continue traveling. Each time I play this in my house or in my car I can picture myself driving down the highway, windows down, making my own atlas of explored places or hiking through trees and mountains.  So, for this week’s Wanderlust Wednesday I thought I would share a little bit of this beautiful album with you!

I have two songs in particular that I think are permanently on road trip playlists.  Pacific is purely instrumental, and West talks about the feeling of separation while traveling.  Below is a link to both of these songs below, but there are a few lines from West that I especially love and want to share:

“maps stretched out- too many miles to count

let’s just say we’re inches apart, even closer at heart.

and we’ll be just fine.

another pin pushed in to remind us where we’ve been.

and every mile adds up and leaves a mark on us.”

What has been the soundtrack to your travels this year? I would love tips on any songs that inspire you to travel to add to my ever-growing playlist!
