When you go to Cebu, Philippines, you would want to experience things that other places can not offer. Cebu has a lot to offer , but we’ll uncover the top unique natural adventures in this blog.
Before giving you Cebu’s best adventures, let me tell you about Cebu. First off, it is in the tropical Philippines, found in Southeast Asia. There are only two “seasons” in this country: the dry and the wet. The dry season begins in December and ends in May. While the rainy period begins in June and ends in November. You do not need to worry much about what to wear since the weather all year long is typically moderately hot.
Moreover, Cebu is rich in natural resources. It is an island, with other sub-islands. There are beautiful beaches, falls, lakes, rivers, springs, and many more. So, if you are seeking for one-of-a-kind activity, it has to be one of those breathtaking gems of Mother Earth.
SO, WHAT ARE THE MOST EXCITING ADVENTURES YOU CAN HAVE IN CEBU?
In this post, we’re going to cover the three most exciting adventures that take place in Mother Nature.
BADIAN/KAWASAN CANYONEERING
WHALE SHARK WATCHING
PESCADOE ISLAND SNORKELING
BADIAN/KAWASAN CANYONEERING
Cebu canyoneering, which is done in Badian, Cebu, is not the same with the canyoneering of the West. In the West, it would take for you to climb up the red, rocky cliffs. You will not only be battling with the height of these mountains, but also with the challenging weather conditions, like the extreme heat.
However, for canyoneering in Cebu, you have hiking, climbing, swimming, and cliff-jumping. You get to enjoy the trees, the waters, the rocks, and the gush and splash of the fresh aquatic reservoirs of Kawasan Falls! You’ll get to see the greens of the plants and trees, the brown soil, and the blue waters while Cebu canyoneering.
Cebu canyoneering in Badian/ Kawasan Falls starts with having an accredited tour guide orient you on what to do and what is expected. Included in the canyoneering fee are the gear, life vest, and helmet. Then, you walk for 15 minutes towards your first jump…towards a 20-ft waterfall. Also, there will be gliding and sliding on flowing waters on the boulders. You would also be swinging with ropes that will transport you from one rock to the other. It is a four to five hour activity that culminates in the most popular spot of Kawasan Falls. In there, you get to jump off from a 35-ft fall. Also, your lunch is part of this tour!
WHALE SHARK WATCHING
The whale sharks in Cebu have become attractions for the locals and foreign tourist alikes. These gentle giants, as they call them, are sighted in Oslob, Cebu. Oslob is in southern part, and will take two to three hours travel from the main city of Cebu.
But, as many will attest, it is a trip worth taking because not everyone gets to meet whale sharks in their lives. These gentle sea creatures are not usually seen in seas or beaches. However, in Oslob, you could feed them and even swim with them.
Bring your underwater camera to capture the time you have with up close with these huge yet friendly sea animals.
PESCADOR ISLAND SNORKELING
Also in the south of Cebu is Pescador Island, which is located in Moalboal. This Island is home to the picturesque world of the underwater. A boat will carry you from one interesting spot to another – there are three areas in Pescador Island that are sought after by avid divers and snorkelers.
The first one is where arrays of psychedelic sea plants and animals mesmerize you as you snorkel. Various species and colors of fish and corals arise before your very eyes. The second scene is where the deeper part which many divers go to. In this place, you can see sea turtles. Finally, the last stop is where you can witness the “sardine run”. These tiny sardines form like sea tornados as they, as a group, move together. It is such an amazing sight to behold!
Final Thoughts On Adventures in Cebu, Philippines…
You can get the best experiences of your lifelong travels in Cebu. Cebu canyoneering is what we consider a must-do activity. Runners up are swimming with whale sharks and hopping in Pescador Island – none of which will disappoint you.

We have been in Cebu all week! Got to dive off of Olango Island and went to Moalboal for the canyoneering adventure, and we totally agree with your assessment that it’s the best adventure to have on the island. We also did a street food tour in a very festive Cebu City as everyone was ramping up for the Sinulog-Santo Niño celebration.
With so many other islands still to explore, the Philippines has already made it onto our list of countries to visit again.
