Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art: Bentonville, Arkansas

This past weekend was Fall Break at my school, so I decided to take a little trip down to Bentonville, Arkansas and visit the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.  It is a beautifully built building in a gorgeous part of the Ozarks and surrounded by nature trails!  The museum was actually built and put together by Walmart (which I’m not a huge fan of) but the entrance to the permanent collection is free!  Very cool!  I just thought I’d share some of the amazing art I got to experience this weekend!

Thanks, Meghan! It was really cool! It had a lot of portraits on the top level, but I loved the modern and contemporary art downstairs! Thanks for reading!

When I traveled the world in 2012, one stop was Bentonville/Fayetteville to visit a friend who was about to complete their undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas. She also recommended the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art – I’m very glad she did. The drive up includes some very picturesque landscapes, the museum’s architecture is itself a piece of art, and I learned something about their art collection which included some very interesting pieces. Thanks for reminding me about my visit here, Paige!

Wow! That’s so cool that you were in this area on your round-the-world trip! The Ozarks really is a beautiful region- I’m happy to call it home! The architecture was probably my favorite work of art! It was really spectacular, and I especially loved it when the sun was setting and the building was illuminated! Thanks for commenting and I’m glad I could bring back some good memories! Cheers!
