Ke’e Beach – Kauai, Hawaii

Ke’e Beach was our beach in Kaua’i. It wasn’t the beach we were closest to, but it was the one we visited most. We were here 5 out of the 7 days we were on the island.

The drive from Princeville isn’t long in terms of miles, but it’s extremely windy and you have to go over multiple one-way bridges so it’s very important to be alert on this drive, and therefore takes about 30 minutes. Luckily, there’s no need to look at your phone or GPS because you literally stay on this road until it ends and then you arrive at Ha’ena State Park and Ke’e Beach.

You can see waves crashing further down Ke’e Beach, but the water here is actually quite still because of the reef that creates a barrier against the often rough north shore. This makes this beach really great for swimming and beach-bumming!

My personal favorite thing about this beach, though, is the way that the Na Pali Coast seems to emerge out of the horizon. It’s so beautiful!

Look at my handsome hubs. We had a fun little photoshoot on the beach because it was just so stunning and the most magical lighting!

Although we never saw one of those sunsets that just light up the sky with bold, bright colors, the subtle pastels were beautiful in their own right.

We did get some marvelous views of the sun shooting rays out from behind clouds!

I just love that peaceful sky over the rolling waters. Kaua’i has truly opened my eyes to what my definition of paradise is.

This beach part of Ha’ena State Park. This means that it’s an absolutely stunning surrounding area, not just the beach. There are loads of trees surrounding the area and even from the trees you can get seriously incredible views. I’m a tree-lover, so getting to see these in addition to the ocean was just magical.

Matt’s a seriously talented photographer.

A lot of people come to Ha’ena State Park for another reason other than to visit Ke’e Beach. This is where the trailhead to the epic Kalalau Trail – the only foot access into Na Pali Coast State Park. We didn’t do the entire 22-mile trail (which happens to be listed as one of the most dangerous trails by multiple magazines) but we did hike 11 miles on the trail, going to Hanakapiai Falls.

The view of Ke’e Beach from the Kalalau Trail. Doesn’t it just look magical? I love the trees surrounding the beautiful beach and those aqua waters.

I just really fell in love with Ke’e Beach, which is why we kept coming back over and over. It was how we spent our first night on the island and we spent our last night on the island the exact same way, along with most of the others, and when we come back to Kaua’i, I want to keep this tradition alive!

Gorgeous beach, gorgeous photos. When I was there, we went to the beach at the other end of the island. My daughter, however, lived and worked in Princeville for six months.

Princeville is where we were staying and we didn’t want to leave! Did your daughter love living there? We went to a beach resort for a drink on the other side of the island, but I don’t hardly think there’s a bad beach in Kaua’i as for as looks go! Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

I was at the Ke’e beach four years ago the early morning before I left Hawaii for good, and the same as you, I love how Na Pali coast line just zoom in out of horizon. Wish I could come back there as well! Nice pictures, especially the portrait shot.

No joke I have been having dreams about going to Kauai lately! I really want to make it happen this year and definitely hit up Ke’e beach! Your photos of this place have mesmerized me! It’s interesting to see the flora and fauna that surrounds the beach too! It looks like a unique place!
