Meet The Wunders

CONTACT PAIGE + MATT | FORTHELOVEOFWANDERLUST@AOL.COM

Hi! We’re the Wunders (Paige, Matt, Charleigh and Liam). We’re a family of four following our passion for traveling, seeing new things and experiencing cultures. Matt takes the majority of the photos for the site and I (Paige) am typically the voice behind the blog. C + L are just the added cuteness and adventurousness.

Matt + I met while living in Asheville, NC. A whirlwind romance led to us getting engaged after a brief 6 weeks of dating. A little over a year later we were married and a year after that we took off on a year-long honeymoon through Southeast Asia, Europe and Morocco. Then, we settled down the Ozarks where we own a home and eventually completed our family with our beautiful kiddos Charleigh (3) and Liam (2).

Between homeownership, different job situations, a global pandemic and then having 2 beautiful babies back-to-back, our travel style drastically changed from budget long-term jet-setting to far off places, to really digging in deep to our own country and, especially, our own region. While we were always nature-lovers, we have embraced our love for the outdoors even more intensely over the last few years.

This love for nature and exploring the different landscapes our own country has to offer led us to buy a camper earlier this year so we can explore as far and as often as possible even with traditional jobs and two very small children. This is in addition to the more traditional type of travel that we still look forward to sharing with our readers!

Another thing we love to write and share about is sustainability. We are far from perfect, but very much ascribe to the idea it takes us all doing it imperfectly through small, incremental changes that will make a big difference. We write about our efforts we make and the sustainable tips and products we find and love.

The blog started as my personal travel blog over a decade ago and has evolved a lot over the years. There are posts about girls trips, solo-travel and more, so feel free to dig in to the blog, ask questions in comments or shoot us an email or message via Facebook or Instagram.

Hey Ashley..Keep up the wanderlust. I totally agree with you about not waiting to travel. I’ve spent my life travelling with my wife and sometimes without. 25 cruises later and many places in between. No regrets. May not have the retirement that alot of folks have because of it, but I never wanted to be rich walking the beach with a walker or worse a wheelchair trying to remember why I waited. Pack in the memories girl. Check out my gallery for some great travel destinations.

It just doesn’t make sense to me to put off things when I’m young and adventurous! Hope you and your wife keep making amazing memories!

At such a young age, following Mark Twain’s advice, concentrating in anthropology, then creating an informative and entertaining blog site is quite an accomplishment already. There’s no need to worry about how well you will apply your abilities; past, present or future, you’ve got it made.

Thanks for the “like”. Ours is a Senior Gap Year ( or 2+) of travels since retirement. So many travels to so many countries with so many different people, cultures and experiences. Probably the best so far was the moving experience that is “the killing fields” of Cambodia and our NZ adventure although all have been good in their way.

So true about every travelers “style” is different. I too am an active budget traveler! I don’t need to stay at “the” all inclusive for $900 for 6 days. I’d rather stay at a hostel for $15/ night and plan MY itinerary and meals to fit the culture!
