CONTACT PAIGE + MATT | FORTHELOVEOFWANDERLUST@AOL.COM
Hi! We’re the Wunders (Paige, Matt, Charleigh and Liam). We’re a family of four following our passion for traveling, seeing new things and experiencing cultures. Matt takes the majority of the photos for the site and I (Paige) am typically the voice behind the blog. C + L are just the added cuteness and adventurousness.
Matt + I met while living in Asheville, NC. A whirlwind romance led to us getting engaged after a brief 6 weeks of dating. A little over a year later we were married and a year after that we took off on a year-long honeymoon through Southeast Asia, Europe and Morocco. Then, we settled down the Ozarks where we own a home and eventually completed our family with our beautiful kiddos Charleigh (3) and Liam (2).
Between homeownership, different job situations, a global pandemic and then having 2 beautiful babies back-to-back, our travel style drastically changed from budget long-term jet-setting to far off places, to really digging in deep to our own country and, especially, our own region. While we were always nature-lovers, we have embraced our love for the outdoors even more intensely over the last few years.
This love for nature and exploring the different landscapes our own country has to offer led us to buy a camper earlier this year so we can explore as far and as often as possible even with traditional jobs and two very small children. This is in addition to the more traditional type of travel that we still look forward to sharing with our readers!
Another thing we love to write and share about is sustainability. We are far from perfect, but very much ascribe to the idea it takes us all doing it imperfectly through small, incremental changes that will make a big difference. We write about our efforts we make and the sustainable tips and products we find and love.
The blog started as my personal travel blog over a decade ago and has evolved a lot over the years. There are posts about girls trips, solo-travel and more, so feel free to dig in to the blog, ask questions in comments or shoot us an email or message via Facebook or Instagram.

Thanks for giving my start up travel blog a visit. I’ve been traveling for 10 years, and have amassed a collection of photos and stories that I used to share on FB. I’m taking my photo and traveling life off FB as soon as I have my blog all set up and running.
Some places that I’ve been to are: Most of the western European countries, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Nepal, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Mongolia and pockets of the great white north, Canada.

March 31, 2012 at 1:00 pmI like your quote by Mark Twain. Here is another good quote:
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”
–William Shedd
ashleypaige4
March 31, 2012 at 3:11 pmI love that! I actually have a tattoo of a ship on the inside of my wrist that represents the Mark Twain quote, so I love the analogy of ships with travel! Thanks for really going through my blog! I’m enjoying all the comments and feedback!

April 29, 2012 at 8:44 pmHey Ashley..Keep up the wanderlust. I totally agree with you about not waiting to travel. I’ve spent my life travelling with my wife and sometimes without. 25 cruises later and many places in between. No regrets. May not have the retirement that alot of folks have because of it, but I never wanted to be rich walking the beach with a walker or worse a wheelchair trying to remember why I waited. Pack in the memories girl. Check out my gallery for some great travel destinations.
ashleypaige4
April 30, 2012 at 1:06 amThanks for stopping by my blog! I’m glad to hear there are others not wanting to wait! I think about having to use a walker or wheelchair while traveling too. It just doesn’t make sense to me to put off things when I’m young and adventurous! Hope you and your wife keep making amazing memories!

May 20, 2012 at 2:47 pmAt such a young age, following Mark Twain’s advice, concentrating in anthropology, then creating an informative and entertaining blog site is quite an accomplishment already. There’s no need to worry about how well you will apply your abilities; past, present or future, you’ve got it made.

September 12, 2012 at 6:26 amThank you for liking my blogpost, Ashley, and I couldn’t agree with you more : “sail away from the safe harbor, dream, explore, dare”. Age, obviously, has nothing to do with it :). Patricia http://www.pviette.wordpress.com

December 12, 2013 at 3:28 amThanks for the “like”. Ours is a Senior Gap Year ( or 2+) of travels since retirement. So many travels to so many countries with so many different people, cultures and experiences. Probably the best so far was the moving experience that is “the killing fields” of Cambodia and our NZ adventure although all have been good in their way.

It’s great to meet you! Thanks for checking out my blog and the amazing compliments! January 12, 2017 at 2:22 amSo true about every travelers “style” is different. I too am an active budget traveler! I don’t need to stay at “the” all inclusive for $900 for 6 days. I’d rather stay at a hostel for $15/ night and plan MY itinerary and meals to fit the culture!
Paige Wunder
January 12, 2017 at 8:54 amI’m totally with you! That’s my preference as well. I’ve only stayed on an all-inclusive once and it was with 16 members of my family and it was paid for for me. It was fun for a few days, and I’ll never turn down a free trip, but it’s definitely not my style. Thanks for stopping by and telling me more about yourself! Xx

As a lover of all things travel, Paige Wunder is falling in love with the world and it’s cultures one day at a time. She’s a road trip aficionado, an avid hiker, lover of learning + culture and an all around wanderess. Follow along on her adventures – big and small – across this beautiful world.
“it’s cultures” should be “its cultures” – I don’t want anything to detract from the awesomeness that is your blog! (And happy travels to you.)

August 13, 2017 at 8:07 amHi Paige………first of all thanks for liking our blog yesterday! I’m so glad you did as I probably wouldn’t have found your site !
I love it and your logo is awesome !
I don’t care if you write “it’s or its”……with the passion your doing things I don’t even notice I’m just reading ! (Yeah I do get the point though and will rather recheck my posts 😉 )
Anyhow…..we’ve been all over the world too before we started our log home project here last year……but we already feel that “itch” again 🙂
Keep on doing what you love……as life’s too short to waste a minute !!
Safe travels 🙂

I hope your home project is going well, and I’ve found that that itch is never going away! I hope we’ll get to keep traveling and hope you do the same!
Cheers!
