I have a soft spot in my heart for art museums, and I had heard that the New Orleans Museum of Art was pretty impressive, so Stacey and I decided to visit the NOMA! They had a really great collection of artwork. I was really excited to see their African Art collection, but unfortunately it was closed while we were there. However, the other art collections were really great. These were my favorites:
Roof Tops, Giverny by Claude Monet
Vase of Flowers by Pierre Auguste Renoir
High Bridge on Harlem River by Ernest Lawson
Woman in an Armchair by Pablo Picasso
Still Life with Candle by Pablo Picasso
The Last Supper by an Unidentified Painter
Vanuatu Slit Gong (I love seeing these!)
Rama Riding an Elephant Formed by Female Figures
Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Skanda
Ganesh on His Throne, With Two Attendants
Krishna Asking for the Gift of Yogurt from a Milkmaid
The Terrace at Trafalgar Tavern by James Jacques Joseph Tissot
Far Away Thoughts by John William Godward
