New York City- Top of the Rock, Central Park and More!

Our last day in NYC we were a bit rushed because we had a family dinner planned with Zach’s family back in Nutley. We rushed into the City to get our CityPASS tickets for the Circle Line, but by the time we got there the boat we needed to take was sold out. We missed out on this, but we still made the most of our day. We walked to The Rockefeller Center and got our tickets to do the Top of the Rock. It was really cool, and I honestly liked it better! I liked that it wasn’t as crowded as the Empire State Building, and that you could see the Empire State Building from the top. Also, you could see all of Central Park, which was beautiful. Zach says he likes it more because he feels like he’s among giants instead of looking down from the highest building.

After Top of the Rock we went on a walk around the area again. It’s such an upscale part of town, and I wanted to walk among all the fancy, expensive stores with elaborate windows one more time.

We went to The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) next which has a separate post that you can find here.

After The Met we went to Central Park. I don’t really know why, but this was something I had to see! You always hear about Central Park, see it on TV shows, in movies, and I just simply had to go. I was amazed at just how quiet Central Park really is. You can still see all these skyscrapers towering over treetops, but you feel like it’s completely apart from the city. There are fountains, lakes, ponds, hills and paths to walk and bike. We also had to go to the Strawberry Fields section of the park to see the John Lennon Imagine memorial. We spent some time reading in here, and it was a perfect place to end our NYC experience.

NYC was a really great experience, and I was especially lucky to have such an amazing tour guide. New York is Zach’s city, and he was so excited to show me everything. I can’t imagine seeing that city with anyone else.

I am so ready to go back to NYC. I can never get enough of it! Lina & I have wondered about moving there some day. We just jived with the vibe there. It’s totally expensive, of course, but we can be starving artists. πŸ˜‰

I’m really glad I am having some time to catch up on your photos now! THANKS especially for the Imagine photo!

I’m actually ready to go back too! I feel like, looking back on my trip, I loved it even more than I realized while I was there. You two should give it a shot when she finishes school! I wanted to live there when I was in high school, but you’re absolutely right, it’s so expensive! I think that living in a place you love, with so many things to do, it’s okay to be a starving artist!

I’m glad you’re enjoying the photos! I appreciate you reading and love your comments! I think of you every time I see the Imagine photo now πŸ™‚

I love NYC and it’s not just because I grew up here. Hong Kong has my heart, my birthplace, but NY…it’s different, but the same. I love Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, basically all of New England, but NY is where I feel the most comfortable.

People always ask me East Coast or West Coast, and it’s not really fair, because they are so different. But I still always pick East.

I bet growing up in NY was awesome! I’m from the Midwest, so it wasn’t exactly an exciting upbringing. Ha! I haven’t lived on either coast, but I’ve spent a decent amount of time traveling in them, and I agree that it is so hard to pick. I wouldn’t be able to. If I could live anywhere in the US it’s a toss up between Seattle, NYC, Boston and LA! TOO HARD TO CHOOSE! Ha Thanks for stopping by and reading!
