This week’s Wanderlust Wednesday is nine more quotes that inspire travel! No matter how many of these I do, I’m still genuinely inspired by all of these different quotes! I hope that I never lose my desire to wander, explore, experience and learn!

“Wilderness. The Word itself is music. Wilderness, wilderness… We scarcely know what we mean by them, though the sound of it draws all whose nerves and emotions have not yet been irreparably stunned, deadened, numbered by the caterwauling of commerce, the sweating scramble for profit and domination.”
-Edward Abbey- ‘Desert Solitaire’-

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return life- and travel- leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks on your body, or on your heart, are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.”
-Anthony Bourdain-

“Find life experiences and swallow them whole. Travel. Meet many people. Go down some dark alleys. Try everything. Exhaust yourself in the glorious pursuit of life.”
–Lawrence K. Fish-

“Life is about the adventures you take an the memories you make. So travel often and live life with open eyes and an open heart.”
-Katie Grissom-

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure- self-determined, self-motivated, often risky- forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world, the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black and white.”
–Mark Jenkins-

“There is something special about a quiet, untouched forest that just pulled you into the moment. Something that no parks will ever be able to achieve. Isn’t that what we’re all searching for in life? To just be happy and content in the moment, to just be there in the ‘now’?”
–Jon Krakauer-

“When you’re traveling, you are what you are right there and then. People don’t have your past to hold against you. No yesterdays on the road.”
-William Least Heat Moon-
***
“Every one of a hundred thousand cities the world had its own special sunset and it was worth going there, just once, if only to see the sun go down.”
-Ryu Murakami-
***
“Between clinging and letting go, I feel a terrific struggle. This is a fine chance to let go, to ‘win my life by losing it’ which means not recklessness but acceptance, not passivity, but non-attachment.”
-Peter Matthiessen-
