Steel Creek- Ponca Wilderness Area, Arkansas - For the Love of Wanderlust
Last fall, my parents did a hike in Arkansas called Hawksbill Crag, and it’s absolutely beautiful! So, my friend James and I set off to do this amazing hike! My tiny Hyundai Accent made it almost the whole way up this tiny dirt road up an Ozark Mountain until I got to this big mud slab… It was pretty deep, but James and I watched another car plow through it, so we decided to give it a shot! We got stuck. After 8, very helpful, very burly and very sweet men pushed us out we decided to look for another place to adventure to! We decided to stop at the Steel Creek Area. This was an especially beautiful day, and a great day to spend time with one of my favorite people in the Natural State. This 3.9 mile hike started under the highway overlooking the beautiful Steel Creek. The hike continues up into the forest, and there are all kinds of really beautiful bluffs and overlooks!
