When I go on trips, I love to make stops at museums. Museums are a great way to learn about a country or state’s history and culture. There are so many that I’d love to visit, but I wanted to start off with telling you about 5:
The Anne Frank House (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
I read ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ when I was in 4th grade, and it really moved me. I was devastated when I learned at the end, that she was killed in the concentration camp; especially, when it was so close to being liberated. I was instantly obsessed with World War II and the Holocaust and tried to learn as much as possible for a 4th grader, and I remember thinking that I wanted to visit this museum, and now 12 years later I still want to visit!
The Museum of Cultural History- University of Olso (Oslo, Norway)
Cultural/History Museums are my favorite type of museum, and since vikings are such in big part of Norwegian history, who wouldn’t want to go learn about vikings?!
The Mark Twain House (Hartford, Connecticut)
I love everything about Mark Twain and I want to make the pilgrimage to his home in Hartford to pay my respects and visit where one of my favorite authors lived!
The Museum of Cocoa and Chocolate (Brussels, Belgium)
Chocolate is such a big part of Brussels’ culture and this is a great way to celebrate it! Chocolates, travel and culture?! Yes, please!
National Gandhi Museum (New Delhi, India)
I think Gandhi did so much, and had such a great effect on India today, and I would absolutely love to visit this museum!
Thank you for reading, and I would love to hear from you who have been to these museums and let me know what you thought of them, and I would love suggestions on some of your favorite museums!
