Wanderlust Wednesday- Movies that Inspire Travel Part 6

This week’s “Wanderlust Wednesday” is back to movies!  This weekend I watched The Bourne Identity again, and I forgot how many beautiful places this movie was shot in, and what’s amazing is the fact that there are THREE of them!  So this week is dedicated to the three “Bourne Movies”.

The Bourne Identity (2002)

The Bourne Identity is the first in the Bourne series.  Jason Bourne is a man who gets picked up by a fishing boat with gunshot wounds, but he can’t remember where these gunshots came from.  He gets flashes of his past life as a trained assassin and puts his history back together while being tracked across Europe.

In this movie they are in: Paris, France,  Barcelona, Spain  Rome, Italy   Prague, Czech Republic  and Mykonos, Greece)

The Bourne Supremacy (2004)

The Bourne Supremacy is the second movie in the series and it picks up where the first left off.  While trying to live a normal life with his wife, he suddenly finds himself framed for a CIA operation that went wrong, and he has to go back to his old ways as an assassin.

In this movie they’re in: Germany, Russia, India and Naples, Italy.

The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

The third of the series Jason Bourne is searching for his life before being an assassin, while trying not to be assassinated.

In this movie they’re in: Germany,  Madrid, Spain,  Turin, Italy,  The United Kingdom,  Paris, France,  and Morocco.

These movies aren’t something that make you think, but they’re good entertainment, and they give me a good sense of Wanderlust as I drool over all the sites.

What movies have you guys seen that have inspired you to travel?

Loved the Bourne trilogy. Under the Tuscan Sun – another favourite – both in story and scenery! It has been years – but I believe Out of Africa was one of those movies that inspired me in childhood – not sure when or what was most influential in inspiring my wanderlust….but amazing views in so many movies were certainly a part of it!

Thanks for reading, Anita, and for the comment! I love Under the Tuscan Sun, and my mom loves Out of Africa, but I’ve never watched it, so I’ll have to check that out! Thanks for the suggestion! I love that movies can transport us to places we’ve never seen! Thanks again for reading!

Clever idea for a series. Don’t forget Ocean’s 12 and James Bond. I’ve wanted to go to Montenegro ever since I first saw that movie!

Thank you! I haven’t seen Ocean’s 12. I’ll have to watch that, and I’ll definitely have to use James Bond, that is a really good one! Thanks for reading and commenting!

I really enjoyed those books and movies (though the movies are really only loosely based on the books). This is a great way to look at the movies – though their locations! Very fun.

I’ve heard that before, that there are a lot of differences. I’d love to read them sometime. Thanks for the comment and for reading!

The Bourne movies are my favorite ones too. Kind of reminded me when I’ve been travelled to.

I enjoyed the Bourne films very much.

I also enjoyed the book and film “Into the Wild” about Chris McCandless. I have hitchhiked around the United States for a number of years and I have ridden two freight trains.
