Although, compared to a lot of my friends and family I travel quite a bit, I can never seem to get enough. I’m always thinking about where I want to go next, plotting trips and day-dreaming about the entire world. My love for travel shows through in most aspects of my life: from conversations, to books, to photography, the classes I take, and even the way I decorate my apartment.
All over my apartment I have trinkets from my travels (which I wrote about a few in my post about Souvenirs). This week I wanted to share not only about Wanderlust, but also a little more of a peek into my life with some pictures of my travel decorations in my apartment so here are a few collages of pictures of my travel decorations:
This is my favorite map. Its HUGE and is hanging in my dining area where I can stare at it while I eat. Last week I decided to start pinning all the places I’ve been.
These are my other maps/globes currently in my apartment. The first globe isn’t very accurate, but it’s pretty. The first map is my shower curtain! It’s one of my favorite things in my whole apartment. The second globe was my great-grandma’s and it has countries that haven’t been countries for about 30 years now, so I love looking at it! The last map is a US puzzle and it has a lot of state information like mottos, flowers, etc.
The top picture is my refrigerator. I have magnets from places I’ve visited, and I hang my postcards I receive on my fridge for at least a couple weeks! The bottom picture is my travel section of my bookshelf filled with travel guides, travel essays, phrase books and ethnographies!
So there you have it! A peek into my apartment and the things I have in it to keep my mind on traveling! What do you have around your house that bring back memories of trips or keep you craving more travel?

November 10, 2011 at 12:38 amThanks for reading! I did buy the books, but I got most of them at a huge used book sale for a dollar a piece! It was too good of a deal to pass up and I bought a TON of them! I love maps and globes, I can literally stare at them all day!

November 14, 2011 at 10:43 amThanks for reading! It really is such an addicting thing. I am always in a constant state of planning a trip, even if it’s two years away 🙂 The shower curtain is so awesome, because you can plan your round-the-world route in the shower… At least that’s what I do! And it was only 20 dollars at Target! Thanks for the comment!
