Its relatively close proximity to Reykjavik. It’s along that southern coast trek that many visitors make. Skogafoss is a beauty in summer and winter and always has a decent flow. The power of this waterfall is unreal and it’s just a rush to see. You can enjoy it from a short stroll to its base, or you can climb the stairs to view from above. If you visit in the winter, be careful on those stairs; they ice over. The big bonus of this waterfall is continuing up the river and checking out the other waterfalls above Skogafoss.
