Wilmington was suggested to me by my friend, Liz, because she said that the beaches near there were less “touristy” than Myrtle Beach, which was my original beach destination in the Carolinas. So, I took Liz’s word for it and I was not disappointed! There are three beaches near Wilmington: Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach. I randomly decided that Wrightsville Beach was the one I was going to visit and I was not disappointed. It was a really cold day on the beach, but regardless I had a really amazing time walking along the shore, letting the water touch my toes from time to time and taking in the beauty of the Atlantic. It was a really peaceful moment for me and the first time I had ever walked a beach alone, but I really loved being there in that moment.
