One of the best things about travel is that you get to create some wonderful memories. All of those little moments in time will stay with you for a lifetime, especially if you capture them in a photo or video. These visual cues will help to cement them in your mind. But, only if you actually lift them from their digital beds and look at them, occasionally. So, today, I thought I would take a look at some of the ways you can do that.
Turn Them Into Aluminum Prints
Selecting your absolute favorites and having them turned into prints for your home is an excellent idea. A lot of people use online print firms like hello canvas to do this, which is an excellent idea. All you need to do is to find and upload your photos, choose a print type; frame and size, then let them take it from there. Canvas prints are nice for traditionally decorated homes. But, if you want a more contemporary option, take a look at the aluminum type. For a more rustic feel, photos on wood can work well.
Use an “Old-Fashioned” Digital Photo Frame
A lot of people have digital photo frames rattling around in a cupboard or drawer doing nothing. If you have one, try loading it up with photos from your latest trip. You will be surprised by how much you enjoy glancing up and seeing a fresh memory on display.
Turn Them Into Wall Stickers
If you are looking for an innovative way to decorate a room, try wall stickers. You can order them in huge sizes. So, potentially you can cover a whole wall with one. They go up surprisingly fast, look good for years. Plus, provided you buy the right type, they should be relatively easy to pull off and replace.
Create a Photo Collage
Collages are excellent for displaying a range of photos. There are lots of ways to create one. You could, for example, buy a dozen small frames, fill them with snaps and arrange them in an interesting pattern on your wall.
Use Photo Cubes
But you could just as easily buy a set of photo cubes and create a collage-style display using them. These can be displayed on a flat surface, or even hung from strings. This idea has the added advantage of your having six photos on each cube to choose from. So, when you fancy it, you just need to flip a cube over to be able to enjoy a new set of photos. Plus, you can easily change the layout of your display. They can be scattered in a single layer, or stacked on top of each other.
Taking the Perfect Travel Photo
All of that said, to take advantage of any of the above ways of displaying your travel photos, you need to be able to take that perfect shot. Our biggest tips for taking amazing travel photos are to get up early (you’ll get the best lighting and fewer people in your photos), take your time to figure out exactly how you want to frame your photo, and have fun with it too! If you are looking for even more info on with how to do that, this article will prove to be particularly helpful. The tips are all easy to understand and implement. If you need help post-production, you may want to look into some custom Lightroom Presets.
