I love Asheville… I am so glad that I went through here on my month-long road trip, because I found my new home! (I’m moving there on June 8th!) So, this spring I made my way back here a couple of times to spend time at in my future city with my dear friends Lina, Liz and Nick!
Liz and I were having a blogging breakfast date (and a pitcher of bellinis) at Biscuit Head when Nick text me from work to tell us that he was up on Town Mountain and that the trees were covered with rime. I had never heard of rime, but Liz explained that it’s when the trees are covered with this freezing fog. It looks absolutely beautiful! So, since I didn’t even know what rime was, Liz and I decided to take a break from blogging and head up the mountain to check it out.
The beautiful view of the city on the drive up Town Mountain
The last time I was in Asheville and we went up the to the Parkway, it was springy outside, but this time (a month later) it was pure winter, and it was so beautiful! I am a fan of rime!
Liz and I had an extra-fun experience, when we saw a “frozen waterfall”! (I think I was a bit overexcited about this water frozen on the side of the mountain, but it was beautiful!)
Thanks, Liz for capturing this photo of me! I got a bit curious and decided to lick the ice… Did I mention Liz and I split a pitcher of bellinis?
Liz slipped on the ice-covered leaves, and fell into a puddle! It took me a minute to realize that she had slipped and fallen… I thought she was squatting to take a picture- so I took this series of photos of her cracking up and waiting for me to offer to help her up! Ha!
I love, love, love this beautiful parkway, this beautiful city and I LOVE my Asheville family! More to come on this city!
