Crescent Hotel- America’s Most Haunted Hotel

Happy Halloween!  Today I wanted to post about The Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas!  It’s been dubbed America’s Most Haunted Hotel and offers ghost tours, and you can stay the night in the haunted rooms.  I went last November, during daylight!  It’s a beautiful hotel and I would love to go back for the haunted tour!

Like I said besides being beautiful, it’s reported to be one of, if not THE, most haunted hotels in the US.  According to wikipedia the hotel was originally opened in 1908 as a school for women, but closed 16 years later, but reopened as a school from 1930-1934.  After this is when things got creepy… In 1937 a man named Norman Baker opened a hospital in this building.  He thought of himself as a doctor, but had no medical training and practiced medicine using his personal “cures” he discovered for illnesses including cancer.  Although, these apparently didn’t kill anyone- it was most drinking  spring water- it’s still a little creepy and maybe led to some of the hauntings that have led people to stay the night here hoping to see apparitions and to take the haunted tour only to be terrified.

Here’s a link to some ghost stories written by visitors to the Crescent Hotel.

Also, here’s a link to some creepy images on the Crescent’s Website

Have any of you guys stayed here?  Any creepy experiences?!
