Holiday Gift Guide for Every Type of Traveler from UncommonGoods

It’s coming up on the holiday season again, which means it’s time to start coming up with perfect gifts for the people (including travelers) in your life. UncommonGoods is a website that I love to use to find unique, often one-of-a-kind gifts. This company was started when the founder Dave Bolotsky attended a Smithsonian craft fair in 1999. Since then the company has grown and evolved to be an amazingly curated shop and each product has a story behind it.

UncommonGoods has taken multiple steps to be a sustainable company in more ways than one. They use recycled materials when possible and environmentally friendly packaging, also many of the products thy sell are organic and/pr made from recycled or upcycled products.  UncommonGoods also strives to support artists and nurture creativity. One of my favorite thing about purchasing from UncommonGoods is their Better to Give program. When you make a purchase you choose what foundation you’d like UncommonGoods to donate a dollar to. I am really excited to partner with UncommonGoods to give you a gift guide for any type of traveler. Check out my top 12 holiday gift ideas from their website.

For the Traveling Lovebirds

Personalized Anniversary Pushpin World Map // $149

I’m obsessed with this gorgeous work of art. Each map is personalized with names and whatever date you choose. I would absolutely love on to chronicle Matt’s and my adventures across the world. The personalization of this gift is just something a little extra-special that makes the adventure of pinning your travels even more fun. It comes framed with foam backing + 100 pushpins. This would make the perfect gift for a newly married couple or for your spouse/significant other.

For the Person Living Life in Two Time Zones

Grand Tour Dual Time Watch // $149

This watch allows its wearer to keep tabs on two different time zones at one time. It’s perfect for the person traveling for work so they don’t miss deadlines or meetings. It’s also for a person living or traveling abroad so they can check the time before calling friends and family back home.

For the Person Who Loves Traveling with Their Furry Friend

Dog Bowl Water Bottle // $15

It’s hard leaving your furry friends at home. That’s why a lot of people love to travel with their pooches! When Matt and I take Brady hiking, I never feel prepared enough. But this awesome water bottle, which is food safe and BPA free, lets your dog have his/her own water with a drinking bowl attached. Plus, the bottle fits in standard car cupholders. Give the gift of pet-friendly travel with your traveler loved-one.

For the Person Who Travels in No Matter What

Waterproof Pack-able Backpack // $59.99

This bag is genius. I’m dying to get one for myself! There are two things that I love, love, love about this bag: 1 – it’s waterproof. 2 – it folds into itself and is so teeny tiny that it fits in your hand. How cool is that? I know a lot of outdoor enthusiasts that would love unwrapping this pack this holiday season.

Mosquito Repellent Bath Soap // $30

This seems like a strange gift, I’m sure, but people buy soap baskets for people all the time and this truly has a purpose! Speaking as someone who’s currently traveling in SE Asia, I would kill for this stuff. Each purchase comes with 3 bars and the more that you use the soap, the more effective they are. It’s toxin-free, smells good to humans and is child + pet friendly. This small gift would be a perfect stocking stuffer.

For the National Park Lover

National Parks Explorer Map // Print: $55 – Framed: $105

I’m one of those people who loves to keep tally, stats, etc. I’m not saying that’s my reason for traveling, but it’s like a competition with myself. It keeps me motivated to continue wandering and exploring. This beautiful map has all of the U.S. National Parks wit stickers that you can place on the evergreen markers. This is perfect for the national park explorer in your life.

National Parks Market Tote // $30

I’m a sucker for totes. I never can have enough of them. I love having things at home that are adventure-inspired. Plus, I always take some sort of tote with me in trips because you never know when you’ll need a beach bag, shopping bag, etc. Every traveler in your life needs some sort of tote!

For the Crafty Traveler

Wanderlust Cross Stitch Map // $35

I absolutely love this. Instead of a scratch map or pinning a map, this beauty allows you to get a little creative. You can personalize it. Fill in countries with designs, chart journeys or whatever you’d like! It’s a personal work of art. This is perfect for the wanderer who loves to craft.

Portable Painter // $29.95

This is perfect for any traveling artist. If I was an artist, I would love painting landscapes and scenes from my travels. This portable painter allows an artist to take that passion on the road with you. All of this folds up to be the size of a medium smartphone. Paints are not included, but those would make a great stocking stuffer.

For Person Looking to Document Their Beer-Cations

Beer Cap Map USA // $35

I’m a craft beer lover and I have a huge stash of bottle caps, but haven’t found the right way to display them yet. The U.S. map would be an epic way to catalogue the amazing craft beers you try while traveling. This gift would be fun partnered with a 6-pack of your favorite craft brew.

For the Nervous Flier

Gin and Tonic Carry-On Cocktail Kit // $24

This would be the perfect stocking stuffer or small gift for a nervous flier like me. These carry-one approved cocktail kits (minus the alcohol) come in a variety of flavors like margarita, old fashioned and Moscow mule as well.

For the Badass Chick Who Can Do It All Herself

Tulry Utility Necklace // 2-Piece Tool: $84 – 5-Piece Tool: $128

This necklace isn’t quite available yet, but will be ready to ship on December 19th. This necklace is super trendy and is incredibly functional as well. You can slide the necklace apart to find different tools. It’s like the necklace version of a swiss army knife. The tools are stainless steel and the surrounding pieces are gold plated. This would make a great gift for a wife, a solo-traveler, a daughter or any other badass chick you know.

Which of these gifts would you like to unwrap this holiday season?

I really love UncommonGoods and actually got a range of my gifts from them last year – everything’s always so unique which really makes an impression when you open the gift. Love the idea of the personalized anniversary pushpin world map, my husband and I met overseas, so that would be a great gift! National Park explore map is also very cool – and love the ingenuity of the dog bowl water bottle. Cool ideas here, thanks!

What a great list of products, I especially love the Personalized Anniversary Pushpin World Map and the cocktail making kit. I have been looking at getting a personalised world map for a while, so I am going to check this out more as I think it is also a reasonable price. I really like the watch too

You curated some really cool stuff here! I don’t have a dog, but I like the water canister, I feels more portable and less messy than some I’ve seen. And I love the NP map! Last year we went to a ton of NP (we were living in an RV for a year) and I would love to document the ones we went to as well as where still need to go!

Some really great ideas for gifts you have here, and even better that they are non-conventional. For me the the waterproof and all weather backpack would suit me right down to the ground and it looks quite lightweight too and the fact that you can fold it up so small – It’s perfect 😀

I truly like the Personalized Anniversary Pushpin World Map for Traveling Lovebirds, for me and my boyfriend because we both love traveling and we can have it in our flat!

It is right on time as we enter festive season. Good to know about this offbeat gifting website. Would like to explore if they operate in India too. I would love to own a personalized pushpin world map and hang it in my study room. I also love the idea of beer cap map.

I guess it is that time of year! Well, you’ve got me thinking of some great gift ideas with your list – love them all. I’ve used the carry-on cocktail kit myself (highly recommend), but I’m really crushing on that tiny packable backpack. Pure genius!

A really fun list of articles for travelers to use and to keep their memories intact. I like the push-pin map more than the scratch maps, so that’s really cool and the mosquito repellent bath soap is a brilliant idea. The Gin and Tonic kit make me laugh, so ingenious of an idea. A really wonderful list, so thanks for it.

Honestly I cannot decide what to choose from all the wide range that you have written above. Although my favourite was the waterproof backpack & the watch I still want all of them.

I’ve not used UncommonGoods before, but some of these ideas are excellent gifts! I particularly like the dog water bottle with feeder, as I take my dog, Moose, on most of my trips. I’m also a huge fan of bags that fold up, so this waterproof backpack is actually perfect! May just have to gift MYSELF this little beauty 😉

I didn’t hear of UncommonGoods so far but I have missed something. I love the bottle for the dog, would be great to take it with me for hiking. My other favorites were the backpack that can be folded together (That’s so practical for a city and an adventure trip if it’s a combination and the soap. I would buy it for sure for my next exotic trip (hopefully next year)

I love the UncommonGoods website and I already have my eye on some gifts for my family to purchase this year. I think from your list I would most like to receive the waterproof backpack, because it always rains in Europe and I’m always caught out on my trips – it seems like such a cool present!

What an awesomely curated gift list for travellers. We can be tricky to buy for as we’re always on the move. There’s lots of great stuff here but I might have to start dropping some hints – I’ve got my eye on that genius Gin and Tonic Carry on kit!

That backpack though…. waterproof ackpacks are absolute musts! Dont want that passport getting wet under any circumstance! I really need to start looking into those. In our opinions, is the one you are proposing the best one or are there better ones?
