This summer I finally did I hike that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time! My brother, Cory, and I drove a couple hours across the state border and into the Natural State. We made our way through tiny towns and dirt roads to the Ponca Wilderness Area.
The Compton Trail down to The Hemmed-In-Hollow Falls is 2.5 miles at an incredible slope down! What you find at the end of the trail, though, is the tallest waterfall between the Appalachians and the Rockies! However, we learned that it is best to come in early spring or autumn, because the falls was merely a trickle. However, it was still very cool to stand in the waterfall and hiking through the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas is always worth while.
