When we decided that we were going for a long weekend in Mexico City, we knew that we wanted to stay in the Roma Norte neighborhood. I tasked Matt with picking where he wanted to stay because this was our wedding anniversary trip! Lucky for us, he picked UTOPIC Roma Norte because this is one of my very favorite places that we have ever stayed.
Our Room at UTOPIC Roma Norte
We stayed in a Deluxe Apartment room at UTOPIC Roma Norte. This was a suite-style room that faced the courtyard with other rooms across the way. Big, huge windows meant that a lot of natural light filled this sleek, modern room. The suite included a full kitchenette including a stovetop, microwave and refrigerator. There’s a small kitchen table perfect for two and then a seating area in the living room with a comfy sofa, a chair, table and a TV.
The bedroom had an extra-long king size bed that was beyond comfortable. Sleeping felt like a luxury experience, especially for two parents of a 2-year-old and a 7-month-old. The adjoining bathroom had double sink, a water closet and a massive shower with a rainwater shower head. We spent a lot of evenings cozied up here and it was the perfect place to come back to. 10/10 cannot recommend this room and the hotel as a whole enough.
Hotel Location
The location of this hotel literally could not have been better. I made out a rough list before we left of places I wanted to eat, shops I wanted to visit and even museums we wanted to go to and we were able to easily walk to 95% of the things that we did on this trip! Colima cuts right through the heart of Roma Norte while still being a “sleepy” street. Although the street is bustling in the sense that it’s lined with some amazing restaurants + street vendors, there isn’t constant traffic and honking.
The Little Extras at UTOPIC Roma Norte
We all love when things are just that extra special. UTOPIC had several of those things that stood out over places we’ve stayed before.
EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAN – This is a standard we’d like to think all hotels have, but we all know that isn’t the case. But here at UTOPIC Roma Norte, the floors, surfaces and facilities were all so clean!
EXTRA HANGOUT SPACE – There’s a beautiful courtyard seating are near the front desk and a rooftop patio. The rooftop patio has even more space, to hang out! There are tables, plants and even hammocks. It’s a very cozy and inviting spot if you wanted to pick up some beers or something and bring them back here.
THEY GIFTED US SOME BEVERAGES – Our refrigerator was stocked with a couple cokes, waters and even beers!
THERE’S AN ON-SITE GYM – If you’re looking to workout on your vacation, they’ve got a really nice gym as well!
