In Search of a Water Lover’s Paradise

The ocean inspires us with its calmness and beauty. The sounds, smells, and sights change our mood, helping us to relax and reconnect with our environment. The ocean, for many of us, is a place where we can go to relax and unwind, escaping from the day to day worries of work and the city. Water lovers can spend years looking for the perfect vacation destination by the sea, although I’m definitely a mountain girl, the more beaches I explore the more I see the differences and beauties of each new beach. Take a look at these paradise locations on the coasts around the world.

KOH CHANG, THAILAND

Koh Chang is an island off the coast of Thailand, near the Cambodian border, famous for its warm waters and welcoming inhabitants. The island relies on tourism for its income and provides some of the most stunning coastal views in the world. Don’t forget, Thailand is a popular destination for diving. You can get certified on nearby Koh Tao, or if you’re already certified, just buy a wetsuit online, pack it with you, and start exploring! The water here is one of the most vivid shades of turquoise that you’ll ever see. In addition to finding amazing luxury comforts at a wonderful price you get the flair of being in Thailand: amazing food, beautiful culture and adventure galore.

LAGOS, PORTUGAL 30 Photos of Portugal to Inspire your Next Trip

Lagos has one of the most beautiful coastlines I’ve ever, ever seen. This is why so many expats live here. The coastline is covered in gorgeous sea arches and the beaches are covered in seashells! You’ll see surfers, kayakers and paddle borders. There’s a vibrant nightlife here and also low prices, thanks to lower incomes in some parts of the city. Plus, you’ll find historical sites, street art and tasty food to keep you occupied if you get sick of these waters… Although, I don’t know how you will.

It might sound like a funny name for somewhere you’d want to visit, but Cape Disappointment is one of the most stunning locations along the Washington state coast, and one of the best places to take part in a boat share. Cruising up the coast, you’ll see a 19th-century lighthouse perched on the hill and have plenty of opportunities to make landfall and enjoy hiking in beautiful surroundings. Cape Disappointment is also one of the most atmospheric locations in the US thanks to its unique weather. It’s the foggiest places on the West coast, creating an eerie atmosphere, especially during the long, dark winter months.

JURASSIC COAST, ENGLAND

If you’re looking for a quintessentially British seaside, then look no further than the Jurassic coast of Devon in southern England. The coast is the site of one of the extensive fossil discoveries from, you guessed it, the Jurassic period. In addition to the famous chalk coasts, there is a gorgeous sea arch known as Durdle Door. In the spring the hills are covered in wildflowers and there are wonderful hiking trails to enjoy the beaches from above and paths that lead down to the sands below.

KAUAI, HAWAII, USA

There are loads of gorgeous beaches on the island of Kauai. It’s actually the home of one of the most majestic coastlines in the entire world – the Na Pali Coast. Trails lead through the valleys to small hidden beaches. Ke’e Beach is super chill and the best beach for sunset, hike 2 miles each way to Hanakapi’ai Beach or even take a dip in Queen’s Bath. The waters here are some of the best in the world.

There are many, many, many other fantastic beach destinations, but these are just a few that I would think would be considered a paradise to any water lover. Which beach destination is your favorite?
