In two days we drove from the East Coast of Sweden (Norrköping) to the West Coast of Sweden (Gothenburg) and then back to the East Coast Again (Skeppsgården). As an American, and an avid road tripper, this notion seemed quite daunting and very exciting! Although, it was exciting because of the million amazing experiences that came from road-tripping back and forth across Sweden, it wasn’t quite the epic road trip that it sounded like (less than 10 hours total).
After spending and evening in Gothenburg, we were able to stay at a camp for free for a night in Lerkil (about 40 minutes south of Gothenburg). After getting our bunk beds set up we went to the harbor there for my first taste of the Swedish archipelago. We walked over the rocks on the coastline that Liz perfectly compared to that of Maine.
There was a large harbor party going on, with a pretty pricy entrance fee, but we were able to walk over the coast and around the back side of the harbor. It was truly beautiful!
