Well, guys, it’s 2013. Isn’t that crazy? 366 days down, and an entire year has flown by. I’m so excited about what this new year is going to bring, but on the first day of this new year I wanted to take a look back at some of my favorite travel moments from this past year:
My beautiful friend, Hannah, and I took a little day trip to Arkansas and she went on her first hike ever in Blanchard Springs State Park.
In March Hannah and I spent a couple days in St. Louis, Missouri. We ate at a couple restaurants that were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, went to the Cahokia Mounds and my personal highlight was going to see Blind Pilot and getting to meet a lot of the band members.
The first trip of 2012 was a day trip to Baxter Spring, Kansas with Hannah. We went to eat at Cafe on the Route which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
My beautiful friend, Stacey, and I went on a hike in Elephant Rocks State Park. I hadn’t seen her in a few months and it was great to see her and get outside and play!
My beautiful best friend, Lilly, and I went to see First Aid Kit in St. Louis this last October. It was great to be on the front row of this show because their music has been so influential in my life, and I’m glad I got to experience it with Lil.
For Labor Day weekend I went up to Fulton, Missouri to visit Lilly and we went all around that little town. Then, we went up to St. Louis to spend part of the day with our lovely Stacey! Great times with two of my favorite people!
This fall I went on a hiking and camping trip at Hercules Glades Wilderness Area. I was really excited about this trip because it was the first trip with all of my great new gear, and I had a great time!
Just a couple weeks ago I went to Kansas City and spent a little time with my friend Chris!
This summer I went on a two week trip with my dad, and my brother was there for a week of it too. One of the highlights was Olympic National Park, especially La Push! It’s beautiful and my favorite kind of beach!
At the end of our two week trip we took my brother, Cory, to the Canadian Rockies for the first time and we took a brief trip on Lake Louise in a canoe. I love these two boys!
Lilly and I went to Johnson’s Shut-Ins and had a blast hiking around and swimming! It was a GREAT TIME!
My favorite part of this summer was the beginning of my two week trip with my dad. I fell in L.O.V.E. with Moab. So it gets three collages. We went to Moab, Canyonlands, Arches, Newspaper Rock and Arches again!
Cory really wanted to go to Vancouver, B.C. which was great for me because I had heard that their Museum of Anthropology was great and it did not disappoint!
Olympic National Park’s mountain region was also amazingly beautiful!
The rainforest section of Olympic National Park was my absolute favorite!
My second favorite part of this trip was rafting the Elwha River in Washington. It was a great experience!
I fell in love with Seattle this summer and I would love to get the opportunity to live there someday!
I went back to Johnson’s Shut-Ins with Stacey and had just as awesome of a time! I love making these memories with my friends!
Earlier this year, in my Christianity class we were invited to tour the Mormon Temple that was built in Kansas City Missouri, and it was a great learning experience. We also went out to eat and to an art museum. It was a really great trip!
I truly had a full and amazing year in 2012, especially since these are just some of my favorite moments! I am so lucky to have such amazing family and friends who encourage me and are willing to take this amazing trips and embark on adventures with me. I want to end this post with a song by Ugly Casanova called here’s to now. That’s my motto for 2013: HERE’S TO NOW!
