Salt Lake Temple

While passing through Salt Lake City I wanted to stop by the Mormon Temple.  We got to the grounds at 7:45 a.m., which was too early for the visitor center to be open, so we basically just walked around the grounds.  This temple started being built in 1853 and wasn’t completed for another 40 years.  The walls are nine feet thick at the base, and six feet thick at the top.  I was spoiled by the temple in Kansas City, though, being able to walk through before it was officially opened, but this temple was still really cool to see!
